Job summary

Aplin in Canada seeks an Estimator to develop precise electrical and instrumentation estimates for major industrial projects, covering equipment, cabling, heat tracing, and systems.

You will review tender documents, determine scope, identify risks, build budgets, and support bidding with competitive proposals while collaborating with internal teams, suppliers, and clients. This role offers growth and exposure to large-scale projects.

Qualifications

• 1–5 years of construction-related estimating experience in heavy industrial environments.
• The ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and tender documents.
• Proficiency with estimating software and MS Office; Primavera or BIM experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive and precise electrical and instrumentation estimates for major industrial projects, covering equipment, cabling, heat tracing, and systems.
• Review tender documents, drawings, and specifications to determine project scope, identify opportunities, and pinpoint risks.
• Formulate winning estimating strategies, create budgets, and support bid submissions with compelling, competitive proposals.
• Contribute to project planning, schedule development, and risk assessment, ensuring financial viability and efficiency.
• Build strong relationships through clear communication and collaboration with internal teams, suppliers, and clients.
