Aplin is currently recruiting Electrical & Instrumentation Estimators for several opportunities with established general and main contractors in the Edmonton area.
We are looking for Estimators atIntermediate, Senior, and Manager levels, with strong experience estimating electrical and/or instrumentation scopes within the construction or industrial sectors.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Preparing detailed electrical and instrumentation cost estimates
• Reviewing drawings, specifications, tender documents and scopes of work
• Completing quantity take-offs and costing for labour, materials and equipment
• Reviewing subcontractor and supplier pricing
• Developing accurate project budgets and competitive bids
• Identifying project risks, opportunities and constructability considerations
• Supporting tender submissions and project planning
• Working with project teams, clients, suppliers and subcontractors

What We’re Looking For

• Provenelectrical estimating experience is required
• Experience with electrical and/or instrumentation scopes
• Background with ageneral contractor, main contractor or industrial contractoris highly preferred
• Strong ability to interpret drawings, specifications and tender documents
• Experience with quantity take-offs, labour, materials, equipment and project costing
• Experience in heavy industrial environments is an asset, including:
  • Oil & Gas
  • Petrochemical
  • Mining
  • Energy
  • Manufacturing
  • Forestry
  • Industrial maintenance and turnarounds
• Strong communication, organizational and analytical skills
• Experience with estimating software and tools such as Excel, Bluebeam, InEight, Trimble, McCormick or similar is an asset
