Job summary

Maple Leaf Foods Inc. is seeking an Automation Specialist for our Lagimodiere facility in Winnipeg. The role involves troubleshooting, servicing, and maintaining automated industrial controls and equipment across the entire site, including production and support systems.

You will work with HMI, PLC, and SCADA networks, interpret electrical diagrams, and ensure backups and revisions are current. This position requires flexibility, including evenings and weekends, and offers opportunities to train

Qualifications

• Diploma in Industrial Automation or equivalent education.
• 2–3 years hands-on automation experience.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems is required.
• Willingness to work flexible schedules, including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and maintain automated controls and equipment across the facility.
• Read electrical/control diagrams and work with field devices such as sensors.
• Maintain backup/repository tools and plant MES interfaces; ensure revisions are current.
• Provide on-site support for plant process control and monitoring of automation systems.
• Write/modify PLC programs in LAD, FBD, and STL to improve efficiency.
• Perform preventive maintenance on automation equipment.
