Job summary

Maple Leaf Foods is seeking a Senior Automation Specialist to troubleshoot, service and maintain automated controls across the facility, including production and support equipment. Lead daily troubleshooting, modify PLC programs, and ensure reliable control system networks with backups.

You will interface with maintenance and engineering teams, implement process improvements, and design Schematics in AutoCAD. Travel to other facilities and OEMs may be required.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial Eng. OR Electro, Electro-Mechanical diploma.
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on PLC experience in automated manufacturing.
• Familiarity with Fanuc Robotics is a plus.
• Solid foundation in control level Ethernet IP networks.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and maintain automated industrial controls and equipment.
• Modify PLC programs to support production needs.
• Provide primary support for distributed process control and monitoring systems, including robot control.
• Ensure integrity of machine control network architecture and backups.
• Interface with other disciplines to execute new projects and learn/process improvements.
• Design electrical schematics in AutoCAD for equipment changes.
