Job summary

Maple Leaf Foods Inc. seeks an Automation Specialist for our Lagimodiere facility. You will troubleshoot, service, and maintain automated controls across the plant, supporting production and process equipment.

You will read electrical diagrams, work with PLC/HMI/SCADA systems, and ensure backups and documentation are up to date. The role requires flexibility, strong teamwork, and hands-on problem solving.

Qualifications

• Diploma or higher in automation/engineering required.
• 2–3 years hands-on automation experience.
• Experience with Allen Bradley PLC, HMI and SCADA systems is required.
• DeltaV, Delta Controls or Beckhoff PLCs are a plus.
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot HMI, PLC, Remote IO, VFD and network issues to minimize downtime.
• Read and interpret electrical/control diagrams and field devices (pressure, temperature, flow).
• Work with Modbus/Profibus/Profinet/Ethernet/IP protocols.
• Maintain FactoryTalk Asset Centre backups and other control system data.
• Provide on-site support and training to maintenance staff.
