Job summary

Maple Leaf Foods Inc. is seeking an Automation Specialist to troubleshoot, service and maintain automated industrial controls across the facility, including production and support equipment.

The role includes sky-level responsibilities in HMI/PLC troubleshooting and participates in the annual incentive plan. Primary duties include supporting distributed control systems, designing electrical schematics in AutoCAD, and ensuring alignment with global food safety standards.

Qualifications

• Diploma or technical qualification in industrial automation or related field.
• Electrical/electronic trade certificates are a plus.
• Willing to work flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Support distributed process control and automation systems and robotics.
• Troubleshoot HMI, PLC, Remote I/O, VFD and network issues.
• Input on equipment installation and preventive maintenance programs.
• Maintain plant control documentation and backups of control systems.
• Maintain asset repositories and ensure software revisions are current.
• Provide controls training and liaison with engineering on equipment changes.
