Job summary
Stantec is seeking an Instrumentation & Controls/Industrial Automation Engineer to join our Energy and Resources consulting team. The role focuses on engineering and design for automation and instrumentation across mining, power, oil & gas, and renewables, with opportunities to lead and collaborate on projects in North America.
The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team, work on diverse projects, and may travel to client sites (~10%).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university.
- 5–10 years of engineering, design, and construction experience in heavy industry, mining, oil & gas, power generation.
- A Professional Engineering license (or the ability to become licensed).
Responsibilities
- Provide engineering support across proposals, design phases, construction and start-up.
- Lead I&C construction drawing development and instrumentation specifications.
- Design PLC/DCS/HMI/SCADA architectures and integrate vendor equipment.
- Develop control philosophies, safety interlocks and discuss with clients and stakeholders.
