Job summary

Stantec invites a highly capable Instrumentation & Controls/Industrial Automation Engineer to join our Energy and Resources consulting team. You will contribute to automation and control system design for mining, power, oil & gas, and renewables, with leadership opportunities in multidisciplinary projects.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's in engineering, 5–10 years of design and construction experience, and a PE license or ability to obtain one. Travel to client sites is expected up to ~10%.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university.
5–10 years of engineering, design, and construction experience in heavy industry, mining, oil & gas, power generation.
A Professional Engineering license (or the ability to become licensed).

Responsibilities

Provide engineering support for multidisciplinary projects from proposals through design phases and start‑up.
Lead I&C construction drawings and instrumentation specifications.
Design PLC/DCS/HMI/SCADA architectures and integration with vendor equipment.
Collaborate with internal teams and clients, participate in design reviews and value engineering sessions.
