Job summary

Stantec is seeking an Instrumentation & Controls/Industrial Automation Engineer to join our Energy and Resources consulting team. The successful candidate will work with a multidisciplinary design group across North America and contribute to projects in mining, power, oil & gas, and energy transition.

The role offers opportunities to lead and support design activities, with emphasis on automation/instrumentation and control system design, and occasional site work.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited University.
5–10 years of engineering, design, and construction experience in heavy industry, mining, oil & gas, power generation.
A Professional Engineering license (or the ability to become licensed).

Responsibilities

Engineering support for multidisciplinary projects of all sizes and complexities, from proposals and estimating through the design phases PFS, FS, detailed design, construction, commissioning and start-up.
Site work from time to time including as-is investigations and assessments, scope validation, construction, commissioning and start-up support.
Lead the design and development of I&C construction drawing deliverables and instrumentation specifications.
Design PLC/DCS/HMI/SCADA architectures and integration with third-party systems, including vendor packages and server room layouts.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in engineering

Professional Engineering license
