Job summary

Stantec in Canada is seeking an Instrumentation & Controls/Industrial Automation Engineer to join our Energy and Resources consulting team. You will work within a multidisciplinary design group on projects across North America, focusing on mining, power, oil & gas, and energy transition initiatives.

You will lead or support design of I&C and automation systems, including PLC/DCS/HMI/SCADA architectures, instrumentation specs, and field installation drawings, with travel up to 10% to client

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited University.
5–10 years of engineering, design, and construction experience in heavy industry, mining, oil & gas, power generation.
A Professional Engineering license (or the ability to become licensed).

Responsibilities

Engineering support for multidisciplinary projects from proposals through detailed design and start-up.
Lead/participate in instrumentation design, I&C specifications, and control system development.
Design PLC/DCS/HMI/SCADA architectures and integrate vendor packages.
Develop networked industrial controls and server room layouts.
Coordinate with internal teams and clients, vendors, and contractors.
