Job summary

AWC Process Solutions Ltd. specializes in water and wastewater treatment and industrial packaged solutions. An intermediate Controls/Automation role focuses on designing, implementing, and supporting PLC, HMI, SCADA, and networking across projects.

The successful candidate will have 5–10 years of automation experience, post-secondary education in Automation & Instrumentation, and familiarity with Rockwell and Siemens platforms. AWC emphasizes growth, mentorship, and a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

Post-secondary education in Automation & Instrumentation.
5-10 years of experience in automation and control systems.
Experience developing PLC, HMI, and SCADA applications and supporting systems through commissioning.
Experience with Rockwell platforms (ControlLogix/CompactLogix) is preferred.
Experience with Siemens/CodeSys/Schneider is an asset.
Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Participate in development of industrial control systems from concept through commissioning (PLCs, HMIs, networking, field instrumentation).
Review customer requirements and develop automation solutions to meet objectives.
Evaluate I&C documentation (Control Narratives, RATS List, Cause & Effect).
Design, implement, optimize, and troubleshoot multi-loop process control systems (PID/advanced control).
Develop software using PLC/HMI standards and reusable libraries; calibrate field devices.
Develop intuitive HMI graphics and SCADA/RTU applications including historian and reporting.
Configure and troubleshoot Ethernet networks (EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, Modbus TCP, OPC UA).
Support FAT prior to shipment and field commissioning/operations.
Travel up to 25% and provide remote technical support; mentor junior staff.
