Position Details

Title: Individual Business Analyst
Reports To: Director, Individual Portfolio Management
Department: Individual Project Management
Term: Temporary Full Time, 14-month contract

Work Arrangements

This is a hybrid role based in Waterloo, ON. You will work in the office at least two consecutive days every other week, plus a fifth day per month. More frequent in-office work may be required depending on the role.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an Individual Business Analyst to join our team, contributing to project success by accurately capturing requirements and scope. This role typically involves smaller initiatives or collaboration with a Senior BA on mid-sized projects.

Responsibilities

1. Assess, research, analyze, and document stakeholder needs.
2. Collaborate with Customer Advisor Experience Team, Product Owners, stakeholders, and SMEs to document current and future business processes.
3. Recommend business solutions that meet client, advisor, sponsor, and stakeholder needs.
4. Create and document product backlog items, detailing requirements, objectives, and tasks.
5. Identify, track, escalate, and assist in resolving production issues.
6. Develop a deep understanding of the value stream to support initiatives.
7. Assist in writing user documentation, instructions, and procedures.
8. Support User Acceptance Testing, including planning, test case development, and execution.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of life insurance products and processes.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Excellent influencing, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Flexibility, judgment, and adaptability in changing environments.
• Understanding of analysis and productivity methodologies.
• Post-secondary degree or equivalent experience.
• FLMI designation preferred.
• Experience with Agile and Waterfall methodologies is an asset.
• High accuracy, attention to detail, and strong documentation skills.
• Effective communication and motivation skills.
• Self-management and time management abilities.
