Job Description: The Indigenous Learning Strategist is a non-instructional faculty position that reports to the Associate Director, Academic Success Centre (ASC) and works in close collaboration with the Executive Director, Indigenous Initiatives, Indigenous Education and Services (IES), IES staff, and Elders.
The primary responsibility of this role is to assess learning strategy needs of all students, with a strong focus on Indigenous students. It involves delivering both online and in-person programs, including short courses, workshops, and peer educator training. The role will collaborate closely with the Indigenous Education and Services team to provide targeted support for Indigenous students, while also working with the ASC team to offer academic support services for all students.

This position is dedicated to supporting Indigenous and non-Indigenous students. The selection process will provide priority to Indigenous people, including First Nations, Métis, and Inuit applicants of Canada. We encourage all qualified Indigenous applicants to self-identify as First Nations, Métis, or Inuit when applying for this position. We will ask applicants to provide documentation in support of their self-identification that indicates that they are a member or a citizen of an Indigenous community or nation. We generally rely upon documentation provided by Indigenous governments. Documentation can include, but is not limited to, Citizenship Cards, Certificates of Indian Status, Métis Citizenship Cards, and Inuit treaty membership cards or documents. Community reference letters from a recognized leader or organization may also be accepted. Salary Range:
Salary placement is on Langara instructors’ salary scale in accordance with qualifications and experience.
