Job summary

The Yorkton Tribal Council and The Good Spirit School Division are seeking a Cultural Coordinator to develop and support coordinated programming across the four partner schools. The role strengthens the integration of local First Nations cultures, Indigenous ways of knowing, traditional languages, land-based learning, and community knowledge within school programming and curriculum.

Reporting jointly to the Yorkton Tribal Council Director of Education and the Good Spirit School Division

Qualifications

• Experience working with Indigenous students and families.
• Ability to design and facilitate culturally responsive programs.
• Strong collaboration with community partners and schools.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and facilitate cultural programming across the four partner schools.
• Collaborate with Elders, Knowledge Keepers, community representatives, and staff to ensure authentic Indigenous content.
• Support teachers in integrating Indigenous perspectives and traditional languages into lessons.
• Coordinate land-based learning activities and shared resources among the schools.
• Develop professional learning to strengthen staff capacity in Indigenous education.
