Job summary

Catholic Social Services seeks Home Support Caregivers to provide person-centred care for adults with complex needs. The role operates as an Independent Contractor with the agency supporting care standards. Responsibilities include behaviour support, daily living assistance, and community inclusion.

Ideal candidates have experience with complex needs, PBS familiarity, and a compassionate, patient approach. Checks and ongoing training are provided to ensure high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Experience with autism, developmental disabilities, mental health needs, or complex behaviours preferred.
• Training or familiarity with PBS or crisis-intervention strategies.
• Patient, empathetic, and consistent under pressure.
• Vulnerable Sector Police check and Child intervention check required on application.
• Reliable, respectful, and committed to high-quality care.

Responsibilities

• Implement behaviour support strategies and follow care plans.
• Support clients with communication challenges, emotional regulation, and daily routines.
• Maintain a safe, predictable environment and respond calmly during escalations.
• Complete a monthly report and communicate with family or supervisors.
• Encourage independence, social engagement, and meaningful activities.
