Job summary

Huron-Perth Catholic District School Board is seeking a Temporary Educational Assistant at Sacred Heart School, Wingham, Ontario. The position supports students to positively impact faith development, wellbeing, and education, working with the SERT and classroom teachers.

The role runs September 3, 2026 to June 30, 2027, 35 hours weekly at Sacred Heart School, Wingham. Pay is $26.65 per hour plus 4% vacation pay, with duties including implementing IEPs, promoting safe classrooms, and aiding

Qualifications

Two-year college diploma in Educational Support or related field is required.
Experience in school, educational setting or childcare is required.
NCVI training is preferred.
Ability to handle diverse student needs and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

Provide educational support in compliance with education-related regulations and policies.
Support strategies to promote a safe, faith-based learning environment.
Assist with inclusion of students in classroom and activities.
Assist with students' academic, behavioural and safety needs.
Collaborate with Principal, SERT and classroom teachers.
Implement components of IEPs/behavior/safety plans under guidance.
Promote independence with social stories, materials and visuals.
Assist students in attaining social and job-related skills.
Support personal care needs in consultation with team and family.
Assist with lifting and transferring using appropriate equipment.
Support use of assistive technologies and communication aids.
Monitor and communicate data on student progress.
