Job summary

Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board is seeking an Educational Assistant to work with students with Special Needs (physical, intellectual, or behavioural challenges) in a school setting. The role focuses on academic, physical and emotional support to foster independence and individual talents; scheduled 33.83 hours per week, as determined by the Principal.

The successful candidate will collaborate as a professional member of the school team and bring relevant training and experience

Qualifications

• Experience with Special Needs students and with behavioural challenges.
• Ability to work as part of a school team.
• Strong interpersonal skills with children and adolescents.
• Educational Assistant credential or related diploma.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic support to students with exceptional needs.
• Provide physical and emotional support to students.
• Promote student independence and talents.
• Collaborate with school team and adapt to schedule set by Principal.
