Job summary

W.A. Day Elementary School in Fort Macleod, Alberta, is seeking a Temporary Part-Time Educational Assistant (0.93 FTE, 30.25 hrs) to provide child support in an inclusive setting. The successful candidate will assist children in meeting their learning goals under the school’s Learning Support Team.

Qualifications

• Experience with students one-on-one or in small groups
• Ability to build relationships with students and staff
• Experience supporting diverse learning needs and physical needs
• Collaborative work with Learning Support Team
• NVCI or SIVA training is an asset
• Educational Assistant certification or Health Care Aide certification or equivalent
• Knowledge of American Sign Language or assistive technology is an asset

Responsibilities

• Provide child support in inclusive settings.
• Assist in implementing learning plans for students.
• Support students in 1:1 and small group settings.
• Collaborate with Learning Support Team to meet goals.
• Monitor and report student progress and needs.
