Job summary

Community Options - A Society for Children and Families in Edmonton is seeking an Educational Assistant (EA) to join a multidisciplinary team supporting children with developmental delays in preschool and daycare settings.

You will implement IPPs, foster positive relationships with children, families, and staff, and participate in bi-monthly training. The role is part-time, with up to 30 hours per week and outdoor activities in all weather.

Qualifications

• ECE Certification Level 1 or willingness to obtain within 3 months
• Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Clearance (within past 6 months)
• Standard First Aid and CPR/AED within 3 months
• Child Intervention Check within 3 months
• Experience with preschool or daycare settings
• Experience with children with developmental delays preferred

Responsibilities

• Support children with developmental delays in community preschool/daycare
• Collaborate with Coordinating Teacher, SLP, OT, PT
• Assist in creating inclusive early learning environments
• Build strong relationships with children, families, and staff
• Observe and document developmental progress; implement IPP recommendations
• Provide personal care as needed; assist with outdoor activities
• Participate in bi-monthly training workshops
