Job summary

Northern Lights Public Schools is seeking a full-time Educational Assistant for Ardmore School in Ardmore, Alberta. The role supports students with social, behavioural, self-help and personal care needs in a collaborative school setting.

The successful candidate will work with students in one-on-one and small group settings, in a compassionate, energetic team environment. Preference is given to applicants with EA experience, IPP knowledge, and strong documentation skills.

Qualifications

• Post-Secondary training and/or experience as an Educational Assistant.
• Knowledge of behavioural strategies.
• Experience working one-on-one and/or in a group setting.
• Knowledge of documentation procedures and proficiency with computers.
• Knowledge and experience in alternate communications strategies.
• Experience assisting students with self-help and personal care needs.
• Familiarity with strategies to address different learning styles and experience with Individual Program Plans.

Responsibilities

• Assist with student educational program needs including social skills, behaviour skills, self-help and personal care needs.
• Work in a team environment to support students and families.
• Assist with documentation and record-keeping as required.
