Job summary

The Family Centre of Northern Alberta is seeking a Caregiver Support Worker to provide intensive, hands‑on in‑home and community‑based support for Kinship and Foster Caregivers whose children and youth participate in the Children and Family Services system. The role focuses on trauma‑informed, culturally responsive practice and building caregiver capacity.

You will foster therapeutic relationships, collaborate with families, Indigenous communities, and professionals, and support caregivers

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Human Services or related field.
• Strong group facilitation and communication skills.
• Experience with Children and Family Services or related systems is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Build respectful therapeutic relationships with caregivers, children, youth, families, natural supports, and service providers.
• Collaborate with agency staff, Children and Family Services, Indigenous communities and partners.
• Support caregivers through placement transitions and permanency planning with practical strategies.
• Support family wellbeing and strengthen safety planning, emotional regulation, and family connections.
• Apply trauma‑informed, culturally responsive, strengths‑based approaches.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with families and service teams.
• Complete reports and paperwork accurately and on time.
• Ensure caregiver and child voices are documented in case notes.
