Job summary

Southern Health-Santé Sud is seeking a Home Care Attendant to provide personal care and home support to clients in Boundary Trails Home Care, Morden. The role follows a plan of care to assist frail or disabled individuals to remain in their own homes safely and with dignity.

The position is in-person, with days, evenings and weekends shifts. Strong independence, teamwork, and bilingual English/French skills are essential, along with a valid Class 5 driver's license.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 education required.
• Home Care Attendant Certificate or Health Care Aide Certificate with community component from a recognized post-secondary institute.
• Knowledge of Safe Food Handling.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team member.
• Ability to apply critical thinking skills.
• Bilingual (English/French) essential for designated bilingual positions.
• Demonstrated ability to respect confidentiality in all formats.
• Valid Class 5 driver's license with insured vehicle and $1,000,000 liability coverage.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and home support to home care clients as assigned according to an established plan of care.
• Assist frail, physically disabled, and/or mentally challenged clients to remain in their own homes safely.
• Exercise initiative to set priorities and determine work methods in line with policy.
• Travel to other regional facilities as required and work in a team.
• Comply with mission, vision and values and organizational policies.
