Job summary

Southern Health-Santé Sud is hiring for a Home Care Attendant position in Winkler (Boundary Trails Home Care). The role supports elderly or disabled individuals in a community setting, with a 0.90 FTE, in-person work and a temporary term ending per collective agreement. Valid Class 5 license and bilingual abilities are important assets.

Previous home care experience is preferred; applicants should be able to travel to regional facilities as needed and maintain a good attendance record.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 education required.
  • Home Care Attendant Certificate or Health Care Aide Certificate with community component from a recognized post-secondary institute.
  • Previous experience with elderly or disabled in a community setting is preferred.
  • Must have a valid Class 5 driver’s license and insured vehicle (liability $1,000,000).
  • Proficiency in both official languages is essential for bilingual positions.
  • Demonstrated ability to respect confidentiality in paper and electronic formats.
  • Good work and attendance record.

Experience
  • Previous experience working with the elderly or disabled in a community setting is preferred.
  • Previous experience working in a home care program is an asset.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Grade 12 education required.
  • Home Care Attendant Certificate or Health Care Aide Certificate with community component from a recognized post-secondary institute.

  • May work occasionally evenings and weekends as necessary.
  • Will be required to travel to other regional facilities as the position duties may require.

This term position may end earlier as outlined in your collective agreement.
