Job summary

Southern Health-Santé Sud is seeking a Home Care Attendant for Boundary Trails Home Care – Morden. This term, in-person position is 0.76 FTE, with daily hours of 7 to 8 and a total of 2080 base hours per year.

The successful candidate will work with elderly clients in community settings, require Grade 12 and a Home Care Attendant or Health Care Aide certificate, and must be able to travel regionally and maintain confidentiality.

Experience

• Previous experience working with the elderly or disabled in a community setting is preferred.
• Previous experience working in a home care program is an asset.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

• Grade 12 education required.
• Home Care Attendant Certificate or Health Care Aide Certificate with community component from a recognized post-secondary institute.

• Proficiency of both official languages is essential for target and designated bilingual positions.

• Good work and attendance record.
• Requires a valid Class 5 driver’s license, an all-purpose insured vehicle and liability insurance of at least $1,000,000.00.

Physical Requirements

• Demonstrated ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the job.
• No hazardous or significantly unpleasant conditions.
• May work occasionally evenings and weekends as necessary.
• Will be required to travel to other regional facilities as the position duties may require.

This term position may end earlier as outlined in your collective agreement.
