Job summary

Southern Health-Santé Sud is seeking a Health Care Aide for a term position within the Southern Health-Santé Sud region. Experience with the elderly or disabled in a community setting is preferred, and a Home Care Attendant or Health Care Aide certificate with community component is required.

Applicants must be able to travel to regional facilities, work independently or as part of a team, and demonstrate strong confidentiality practices.

Qualifications

Grade 12 education is required.
Home Care Attendant Certificate or Health Care Aide Certificate with community component from a recognized post-secondary institute.
Bilingual English and French proficiency is essential for designated bilingual positions.
Must have valid Class 5 driver’s license and be able to provide an all-purpose insured vehicle with $1,000,000 liability insurance.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Demonstrated ability to respect confidentiality in paper and electronic formats.
Good work and attendance record.

Responsibilities

Travel to other regional facilities as position duties may require.
Complete and maintain Satisfactory Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Search, Adult Abuse Registry Check and Child Abuse Registry Check.

May work occasional evenings and weekends as necessary.
