Implementation Technician/TECHNICIEN(NE) DE LA MISE EN ŒUVRE (Ottawa)

Responsible for the installation and maintenance of communications hardware and networks in retail environments. These networks include data, POS, and PC systems in commercial spaces.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Interpret and manage work orders, drawings, and specifications.
• Perform site inspections.
• Assemble and set up tools, materials, and equipment.
• Test computer peripherals, hardware, and software to ensure proper functioning.
• Install network and peripheral hardware (servers, switches, RF, POS, wireless, printers).
• Test, review, and troubleshoot installed systems.
• Travel to customer sites across assigned geographic areas to perform work.
• Work on day/night shifts as required.
• Install cable supports and install, fish, dress, cross-connect, and terminate UTP, coaxial, and fiber optic cables as needed.
• Provide work logs and reports.
• Coordinate with customers, store managers, and employees regarding hardware installations.

Occupational Requirements:

Technical Requirements:

• Experience with networks, POS, and PC systems preferred.
• Experience in installing various network infrastructure equipment.
• Troubleshooting skills for cabling, hardware, and network issues.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools.
• Proficient in computer skills and networking knowledge.
• Valid Class G driver's license and ability to produce a clean driver's abstract.
• Own vehicle and ability to travel independently.
• Basic computer skills and good writing skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, and Outlook is helpful.
