Overview

Our application delivery experts are essential in managing the outsourcing of employee benefit plan administration. Collaborating closely with project managers, clients, and team members, the Implementation Programmer is pivotal in configuring, developing, and deploying health and welfare system implementations, managing vendor integrations, and conducting ongoing maintenance activities. This role involves creating reports, interfaces, and customizations within the existing application framework, as well as configuring and developing new standalone applications when necessary. The Senior Programmer will utilize strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to identify, articulate, and resolve system issues, review code, and provide guidance and mentorship as needed.


How you'll make an impact

  • Analyze plan documentation, data, and interface requirements
  • Meet with systems owners and end users to define business requirements and systems goals, and identify and resolve business systems issues.
  • Execute the configuration of the system, data configuration, and vendor interfaces based on requirements
  • Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.
  • Collaborate with other business SMEs in the development of system solutions
  • Provide quality assurance on system parameters and vendor interfaces
  • Liaise with third-party support and vendors as required
  • Develop and review system functionality
  • Develop, review, and maintain technical/user documentation
  • Attend, participate, and contribute to team meetings and client meetings
  • Work with users to provide system support and troubleshoot system problems on complex issues
  • Collaborate closely with the Project Manager/Team Leader to communicate project progress and delivery

About you

  • 5+ years of system implementation and transition experience
  • Asset: Proven knowledge of Health & Welfare (benefits) programs and administration as well as implementation processes
  • Detail-oriented and able to multi-task, demonstrate problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to communicate concepts and information to teammates and clients
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented project team environment
  • System analysis/implementation/testing experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access
  • Proven experience in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software and hardware solutions, systems, or products.
  • Working technical knowledge of PL/SQL and Java, C, C++, .NET
  • Proficiency in technical and business skills to effectively address the requirements with vendors and the client
  • Proven knowledge in Analysis, Configuration, and Defect Tracking
  • Kettle Framework an asset

Required: Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years related experience required.

Preferred: Industry-specific certifications
