Job summary

Beanfield is seeking an Implementation Lead to oversee construction OSP projects, manage contractors, budgets, and safety with a focus on timely, cost-effective completion. The role reports to the Manager, Strategic Projects and supports the Liberty Village–Toronto footprint.

You will perform site visits, pre/post-construction walks, verify as-builts, and manage tickets in Jira while tracking budgets in SAP. Hybrid work and strong hands-on coordination are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma is required.
• Post-secondary diploma/degree in Engineering or a related field is an asset.
• 2-5 years of experience in telecommunications design and construction.
• Must have a valid Ontario G Class Driver's License with a clean abstract.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
• Knowledge of fibre network planning and telecom terminology.
• Proficiency with databases and spreadsheets; MS Office; Jira.

Responsibilities

The Role

Reporting to the Manager, Strategic Projects, the Implementation Lead is responsible for overseeing certain construction OSP projects, including forced relocates, large customer builds, and network expansion projects, ensuring they align with company standards and are executed effectively and efficiently. This role involves direct management of contractors and construction teams, with responsibilities spanning from planning and scheduling to budget management and safety compliance.

What You’ll Do

Perform site visits to determine OSP/ISP project scope and create budgets.

Perform pre- and post-construction walks: identify deficiencies, address issues, and resolve.

Verify “as-builts” and upload into applicable systems.

Inspect construction projects daily to ensure all health & safety measures and quality standards are being adhered to and solve any issues that arise.

Attend kick-off meetings for new projects.

Schedule and manage assigned work to ensure timely and cost-effective completions are being met.

Support contractors with force relocates.

Respond and attend cable cuts and triage outages with internal teams.

Receive and respond to inquiries/complaints by telephone, in person, or by correspondence.

Work closely with project coordinators to create, update, and close tickets in JIRA for all project-related tasks, ensuring budget forecasts are accurately created and maintained in SAP for seamless project tracking.

Carry out any other duties as assigned by the Manager, Strategic Projects to support the successful execution of projects and the achievement of organizational objectives.

Responsible for the Health & Safety of all the construction team, including but not limited to: ensuring all policies and procedures are met and followed, performing field audits on employees, and ensuring all tools, PPE, and safety equipment are up to legislative standards.

What You Bring

Experience working with people is a MUST!

Minimum of a high school diploma is required.

Post-secondary diploma/degree in Engineering or a related field is an asset.

2-5 years of experience in telecommunications design and construction.

Knowledge of Fibre Network Planning Methodology is an asset.

Must have a valid Ontario “G” Class Drivers’ License with a clean driver’s abstract.

Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.

Understanding of aerial, underground and substructure design and construction.

Knowledge of telecommunications industry terminology.

Ability to use databases and spreadsheets

Able to use Microsoft Office applications.

Technical software knowledge of Jira is an asset.

Ability to handle multiple projects concurrently.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to work on various projects at any given time.

Actual total compensation will be determined based on factors such as knowledge, skills, performance and experience. The salary range indicated includes a Short Term Incentive Plan (“STIP”) which represents a percentage of your Base Salary based on the achievement of individual and corporate objectives; The STIP payment is calculated based on a formula that takes into account several factors, including, without limitation, corporate and individual performance measures.
