ParaMed is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide immunization services to staff and homebound clients in the Waterloo-Wellington District, Ontario. You will administer injections, monitor reactions, maintain cold chain procedures, and document immunizations.

Job DescriptionFull-TimeFixed Term (6 Months)Waterloo-Wellington DistrictNon-UnionizedOverviewIn accordance with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) Standards of Practice and as an integral member of the Public Health Services team, provides immunization services within the framework of the Population Health & Health Promotion Model. Applies knowledge, skills and abilities specific to Vaccine Preventable Disease, Epidemiology, Community Development and Primary Health Care, Healthy Equity and Public Health Ethics. Translates knowledge from health and social sciences to support immunizations through universal and targeted interventions, programs and advocacy.Plans, organizes, implements and evaluates immunization services for ParaMed employees and homebound ParaMed clients. Works in collaboration with the local Public Health Unit, conducts immunization clinics for eligible staff and clients in a variety of settings by assessing needs, establishing informed consent, preparing and administering injections and observing and responding to reactions.Following the ParaMed Immunization Policy and Medical Directives, the Immunization & Public Health Promotion Registered Nurse advises clients of adverse reactions and contraindications and provides after care instructions and related documentation. Submits Adverse Events Following Immunization (AEFI) reporting form to the local Public Health Unit. Completes immunization records and documents immunization administrations utilizing Public Health Unit online portal and local WW District Tracker.
