Job description

Reporting to the Mechanical Department Manager, the Mechanical Project Manager oversees retrofit projects to confirm proper design, product, and installations are recommended, quoted, and delivered. The Project Manager is responsible for the project's overall success, organizing activities through the design and implementation phases of the projects.

The Project Manager is a key figure in ensuring the success of construction projects, as they are responsible for coordinating resources, managing timelines and budgets, and maintaining communication among stakeholders.

Project Manager duties include (but are not limited to):

1. Work in High-rise residential and commercial buildings with multiple disciplines, ex. pipe fitting, sheet metal, building automation, electrical, rigging, etc.
2. Coordinate large mechanical installations on existing buildings.
3. Work with mechanical drawings, shop drawings, as-built drawings, and specifications to gain a complete understanding of the work to be performed.
4. Identify labour, materials, and time requirements.
5. Forecast realistic budgets and track costs.
6. Maintain cost database.
7. Ensure jobs are completed on time and on budget.
8. Create and manage close-out documents.
9. Conduct project postmortems to determine what was effective and what to improve for future projects.
10. Plan and attend crane lifts (will require some weekend work).
11. Attend site meetings in person or virtually.
12. Ensure any site-specific H&S requirements and or hazards are communicated to all parties involved.
13. Ensuring projects comply with OHSA and Industrial Regulations.
