Qualifications

• University degree in Civil, Structural or Mechanical Engineering.
• At least five years of transmission project experience.
• Proficiency with design software (PLS-CADD) and CAD; familiarity with drawing standards.
• Excellent written and spoken English; French is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Develop safe engineering solutions through design, analysis, and interpreting specifications for medium complexity utilities projects.
• Assist project management in meeting safety, cost, quality, and schedule targets by proposing plan changes and coordinating work schedules.
• Resolve technical and field engineering problems through independent studies and sound judgment to recommend safe designs.
• Contribute to engineering practices by developing standards and guiding other engineers.
• Deliver exceptional customer service by defining scope with clients and reporting progress against standards.
• Design overhead line structures and facilities for voltages from 5kV to 500kV in an electric utility environment.
• Prepare project documentation like reports, specifications, proposals, estimates, and test plans.
• Develop design work packages with scope, duration, and effort estimates, and manage tasks.
