Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
• A Master's degree or relevant professional certification is a plus.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in procurement, with a specialization in sourcing and managing capital equipment.
• Demonstrated success in negotiating and managing large-scale capital procurement contracts.
• Strong understanding of capital project lifecycles and procurement challenges.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and project management tools.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Experience working within the industrial sector in the Northern Cape is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic sourcing and procurement of capital equipment from definition to delivery and commissioning.
• Develop and execute procurement plans for capital projects.
• Conduct market analysis to identify leading suppliers of capital equipment.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to obtain best value.
• Manage supplier relationships through procurement and implementation phases.
• Ensure compliance with regulations, policies, and ethics.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and finance to define specs and budgets.
• Oversee logistics, installation, and handover of capital equipment.
• Identify and mitigate risks in capital equipment procurement.
• Prepare reports on procurement status, cost savings, and progress.
