Job summary

Simon Fraser University is seeking a Research Contracts Coordinator to support the triaging, initial review, execution and documentation of research agreements within Research Services. You will collaborate with a 5-7 person team on roughly 1000 agreements annually.

Ideal candidates have an undergraduate degree and three years of related experience in research contract administration, with strong organization, communication, and confidentiality awareness. Hybrid work options are available.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree and three years of related experience in research contract administration, OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Good knowledge of Canadian governmental funding agency research policies, rules, regulations and best practices.
• Good knowledge of basic legal issues relating to research contracts, including intellectual property, confidentiality, and publication rights.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent research, analytical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and client service skills.
• Excellent communication skills (both oral and written).
• Ability to interpret and apply University policies governing research and commercialization.

Responsibilities

• Triaging, initial review, execution and documentation of research agreements.
• Collaborate and triage assignments between 5-7 people for approximately 1000 agreements a year.
