Job summary

Voyago in Hamilton is seeking a full‑time hybrid Patient Transfer Attendant and Mobile Bus Driver. You will safely transport patients and provide compassionate, reliable service, switching between PTA duties and bus driving as needed.

The role requires physical fitness to lift 250+ lbs with a partner, a valid BZ licence, and a clean driving record. Competitive shifts include first aid and safety training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid BZ driver’s licence.
• Minimum of 3 years continuous driving experience with the same employer.
• Clean driving record and ability to maintain a Driver’s Abstract.
• Physical fitness to lift and maneuver 250+ lbs with a partner.
• Valid First Responder Certification, AEMCA, or Firefighter EMR, or currently pursuing Paramedic Diploma Year 1.
• Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Excellent verbal and written English.
• High School or equivalent qualification.
• Able to obtain a satisfactory criminal record check / Vulnerable Sector Screening.
• Up‑to‑date immunization records (MMR, DPT, Polio, Varicella, Hepatitis B, COVID‑19, TB).
• Knowledge of traffic laws and safety procedures, and commitment to passenger safety.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport patients by stretcher or wheelchair to healthcare facilities, nursing homes, and residences.
• Assist with loading/unloading and moving patients using stretchers and stair chairs.
• Work with a partner to lift and maneuver patients weighing 250+ lbs.
• Provide compassionate, respectful patient care throughout transportation.
• Communicate effectively with patients, staff, families, dispatch and team members.
• Follow SOPs, safety procedures and infection control requirements; complete documentation accurately.
• Respond to patient needs and emergencies within training scope.
