Job summary

Sun Life is hiring a Group Underwriter Associate in a hybrid role based in Canada. You’ll evaluate risk, price Group Life, Disability, Health, Dental and Critical Illness benefits, renew existing business and advise on plan changes while collaborating with the sales team.

You will assess opportunities, meet profitability objectives and learn Sun Life's products and underwriting guidelines. CEBS GBA cert within 3 years is expected.

Qualifications

• Excellent numerical and analytical skills.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Complete renewals, quotations and respond to client requests within standards.
• Develop understanding of products, underwriting guidelines and pricing methodologies.
• Assess risk and determine price and conditions for Group Benefits plans.
• Understand administrative, contractual and legislative Group Benefits environment.
• Build relationships with sales to sell renewals and quotations.
• Work with sales to understand clients and their risk profiles.
• Provide insight and solutions to client risk and cost issues.
• Complete the CEBS Group Benefits Associate (GBA) certificate within 3 years from hire date.
