Job summary

Grainger Canada is seeking a Field Operations Associate for a unique hybrid KeepStock/Branch role in Fort St. John, offering both branch and on-site customer service. You will engage customers, manage inventory, and capitalize on sales opportunities to exceed expectations.

The role requires strong communication, high energy for customer service, and the ability to travel to customer sites as needed while maintaining Grainger Canada standards and certifications.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• 1+ years experience in retail/selling or customer service environment required.
• Flexibility to working hours for branch operations.
• Ability to safely learn and operate powered industrial equipment, forklift.
• Successful and timely completion of initial and ongoing training as required.
• Self-motivated, with high energy and dedication to customer service and sales growth.
• Ability to effectively collaborate with tact and diplomacy with internal and external customers and cross-functional partners.
• Demonstrated ability to apply strong judgment, independent problem-solving skills, and understanding of Grainger’s Core Value Proposition.
• Handle various technical and operational issues.
• DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license in province of residence Upon Hire required.

Responsibilities

• Own the full customer experience in branch and on-site servicing.
• Capitalize on sales and service opportunities to meet revenue targets.
• Promote Grainger products and provide substitutions when required.
• Maintain product knowledge and complete required certifications.
• Process transactions and provide timely delivery updates.
• Support Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) and keep stock levels accurate.
• Follow routing software and meet customer schedule.
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities in productivity and cycle time.
• Ensure safety compliance and travel as required.
