Job summary

Intact is seeking Personal Lines auto claims adjusters who have passed the AMF exams or are in the process of doing so. Location spread includes Montreal, Laval, Quebec City and Saint-Hyacinthe. Work schedule is 9 a.m.

to 5 p.m., Monday to Friday (35 hours/week). You will open new claims, interview insureds, determine coverage, assess liability and settle claims fairly. The role requires a claims adjuster licence with proficiency in English and French, strong communication, and ability to use

Qualifications

• Claims adjuster licence and successful completion of AMF exams.
• Experience in a similar position.
• Strong time-management skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Open new claims over the phone with customers, then ensure the situation is handled immediately.
• Interview insureds and/or witnesses to gather their accounts of events.
• Determine whether the claim is covered or not by analyzing the insured’s policy details.
• Analyze the information obtained, make decisions to determine liability and review damage assessments.
• Settle claims fairly and equitably, confirm damage amounts and make payments.
