Job summary

Fanshawe College seeks an experienced HVAC Technician to maintain and repair campus HVAC, refrigeration, and automation systems. You’ll respond rapidly to temperature concerns, program BAS, and support project installations across multiple facilities.

The role requires strong communication, independent work, and travel between Fanshawe locations with a valid G2/G license and Ontario 313A certification, in a busy, safety‑mocussed environment.

Qualifications

• Certified Refrigeration & AC Mechanic (313A) in Ontario
• Gas Technician 2 (G2) certification
• Ozone Depletion Prevention certificate
• Minimum 5 years recent experience in industrial/commercial HVAC and building automation
• Valid Ontario G driver's license and ability to travel between Fanshawe locations
• Proficiency with computer and mobile tech for work orders, BAS, safety procedures
• Strong communication and teamwork capabilities

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair HVAC and refrigeration systems up to 400,000 BTU.
• Respond quickly to temperature-related complaints.
• Program and adjust building automation systems.
• Prepare equipment layouts, estimates and schedules for installations.
• Inspect new installations for codes and standards.
• Contribute HVAC expertise to Emergency Response Team.
• Collaborate with other trades for project success
