Job summary

O'Dell HVAC Group in Coquitlam, BC, is seeking an experienced HVAC Service Technician to join our on-site service team. You’ll support installs, startups and ongoing service, providing hands-on field work and phone troubleshooting for our industry-leading products.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of commercial HVAC experience, RACM license, Gas Fitter Class 1 or 2, a valid Class 5 license, and willingness to travel within our territories.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience with commercial and industrial HVAC service.
• Licensed RACM.
• Gas Fitter license Class 1 or 2.

Responsibilities

• Be the expert voice for customers on the O'Dell product lineup.
• Startup and commission new systems with contractors, ensuring smooth operation.
• Provide virtual or phone support for wiring, piping, programming, and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with Sales on product layout and integration across multiple products.
• Attend customer sites for hands-on support during installs and commissioning.
• Assist with processing warranty claims and coordinate with internal teams.
• Travel to manufacturer facilities for in-depth product training as required.

We are seeking an HVAC Service Technician to join our Service team in our Coquitlam location. Reporting to the HVAC Service Manager, you will be working with our contractors during installs, start-ups, and helping services run smoothly from day one.You’ll provide expert support in the field and over the phone, troubleshoot technical issues, and get hands-on with industry-leading products.

This role is not an on-call position - regular working hours are on-site between 8:00am and 4:30pm, Monday to Friday.

What You'll Be Doing

• Be the expert voice for customers on the O’Dell product lineup

• Startup and commission new systems alongside contractors, ensuring everything runs smoothly and safely

• Offer virtual or phone support to installers and technicians for assistance with wiring, piping, programming, and general troubleshooting

• Collaborate with our Sales team to assist with product layout and integration across a wide range of products

• Connect with our manufacturers to obtain technical information and support materials

• Attend customer sites to provide hands-on support during installs, commissioning, troubleshooting, and additional responsibilities as required

• Assist with processing warranty claims by working closely with contractors and our internal team to keep the process moving in a timely manner

• Travel to manufacturer facilities for in-depth product training as required

• Supporting customer contracts and providing required services

• Other responsibilities as assigned

What You Bring

• LicensedRACM

• LicensedGas Fitter, Ideally Class1orminimum Class 2

• Hold a valid Class 5 driver’s license in good standing and clean driver’s abstract

• Willing and able to travel within our service territories (territory dependent on location of hire

• Three to five (3-5) years of experience with commercial and industrial HVAC service

• A solid understanding of computers and Microsoft Office, including openness to learning – computers and electronics are a large part of how we support modern HVAC systems

• Strong communication skills, both verbally and written

• Detail-oriented and reliable, following through on deadlines and commitments to customers

• Dependable, punctual, and ready to lend a hand to team members

• Meet the physical requirements of the role, which include:

• Lifting up to 50lbs

• Climbing stairs and ladders, and working at heights

• Bending, pushing, pulling, and kneeling

• Sitting for long periods of time while driving

• Working in extreme temperatures (heat and cold)
