Job summary

Johnson Controls Canada is seeking skilled HVAC Service Journeypersons in commercial, industrial, and institutional markets to join our team. A minimum of 5 years of HVAC service experience, with knowledge of maintenance procedures and troubleshooting, is required.

You will be assigned primary service accounts, perform contract maintenance visits, site assessments and advise on upgrades to extend equipment life, while maintaining strong relationships with customers and vendors.

Qualifications

• HVAC Journeyperson status is required.
• Must be a member in good standing of Local Union 516 or willing to join.
• Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office and handheld devices (smartphone, iPad).
• Adherence to the company safety program.
• Valid driver’s license and licenses to work with refrigerants, natural gas, and electrical.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be able to be on call nights and weekends on a rotating basis.

Responsibilities

• Manage primary service accounts and perform contract maintenance visits, inspections, site assessments, and service requests; recommend upgrades or repairs to prolong equipment life.
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with customers, vendors, and coworkers through effective communication.
• Provide quotes for labor and material repairs and upgrades as needed.
• Serve as the direct customer contact and service equipment on assigned projects, ensuring customer satisfaction by diagnosing and repairing equipment and systems on site.
• Use cutting-edge software, hand tools, rigging equipment, and blueprints to diagnose and repair equipment.
• Enforce safety standards and maintain asset accountability and security.
• Be part of an on-call rotation and occasionally work overtime or overnight.

What you will do

We are looking for skilled HVAC Service Journeypersons in commercial, industrial, and/or institutional markets to join our team. Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of HVAC service experience, with knowledge of maintenance procedures and troubleshooting.

How you will do it

• You will be assigned primary service accounts and responsible for executing contract maintenance visits, inspections, site assessments, service requests and recommending necessary upgrades or repairs to prolong the equipment life cycle of our customer's equipment.

• You will establish & maintain a positive relationship with customers, vendors, and co-workers through effective oral and written communication skills via phone, computer, and face-to-face.

• You will be expected to provide quote estimates for labor & material repairs and upgrades as needed.

• You will represent the company by serving as the direct customer contact and be responsible for servicing products and equipment on assigned projects, ensuring customer satisfaction by identifying, analyzing, diagnosing, and repairing equipment and systems at the customer’s location.

• You will be required to use cutting-edge software and technology, along with a variety of hand tools, and rigging equipment, following blueprints or engineering specifications, to diagnose and repair equipment.

• You will be expected to continually enforce safety to the highest standards and maintain security and accountability of company-issued and procured assets by recording use, wear, and conditions.

• You will be expected to work as part of a team that is dedicated to delivering the highest standard of service to all its customers which may require the flexibility to work overtime and weekends as the business requires, including occasional overnight stays.

• You will be added to our on-call rotation since we are a 24/7 service company.

What we look For

Required

• HVAC Journeyperson status.

• Must be a member in good standing of Local Union 516 or willing to join.

Pay Range: $ 59.39 hourly rate determined by the CBA/rate sheet. Benefits are provided
through a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement. The posted salary range reflects the target compensation for this role.
