Job summary

Johnson Controls Canada is seeking skilled HVAC Technicians to service commercial equipment including ducted systems, air- and water-cooled chillers, AHUs and rooftop units. Training through the STA program is provided, with uniforms, tools and a company vehicle to support proactive field service.

You will troubleshoot issues, optimize system performance and draft quotes for repairs and energy-efficiency upgrades, while prioritizing safety.

How will you do it
We're looking for skilled HVAC Technicians

with experience servicing commercial HVAC equipment, including ducted systems, air-cooled and water-cooled chillers, air handling units (AHUs), and rooftop units.

In this role, you will deliver exceptional service to customers by troubleshooting and resolving equipment issues, improving facility performance, and ensuring HVAC systems operate efficiently. As a trusted advisor, you will identify opportunities for system improvements, recommend solutions, and support customers through commissioning and aftermarket service activities. You will also prepare quotes and proposals for recommended repairs, upgrades, and energy-efficiency improvements.

What we look for
Required
  • Must be a good standing member with the LOCAL 787.
  • Valid G2 Gas Technician License and Journeyperson HVAC certification.
  • Be a dedicated member of a North America Branch team willing to learn and be responsible for startup, commissioning, trouble shooting and aftermarket services for this fast-growing business.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of practical working experience on Residential and/or ducted products, air cooled and/or water-cooled chillers, AHU’s or Roof Top ducted units with strong HVAC/ mechanical troubleshooting experience.
  • Able to repair centrifugal compressors, steam turbines, screw chillers system components.
  • Travel maybe required 10% to 20% to support Branch Customers startup and commissioning activities as well as aftermarket service trouble shooting.
  • You will be required to pass a knowledge examination to assess proficiencies.

  • You will work collaboratively with other local market mechanics.
  • Attention to detail through interpersonal, digital, and written skills. Able to write and communicate to the customer problem, cause, and corrective actions.
  • Able to provide quotes to customers and participate in JCI’s Service Plus Rewards program.
  • Self-starter with a passion/ desire to learn and apply on the job.
  • Prioritize safety in all forms
  • Universal EPA refrigerants license, applicable state or local licensing, and valid driver's license.
  • Candidates must be eligible to obtain a Secret security clearance or already hold an active Secret clearance.

  • Bilingual (English/French)

Pay Range: $63.33 hourly rate determined by the CBA/rate sheet. Benefits are provided through a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement.
