Job summary

Black & McDonald Limited in Saskatoon, SK is seeking an experienced Service HVAC technician to join our Service Division. You will work on RTUs and HVAC systems, troubleshoot issues, and provide excellent customer service.

The role reports to the Service Supervisor; you must read blueprints, follow safety protocols, and maintain records. A valid Class 5 driver’s license and HVAC certification are required.

Qualifications

• HVAC certification required.
• Experience with RTU/HVAC systems and troubleshooting.
• Ability to read blueprints and compliance schematics.
• Knowledge of local building codes.
• Physically able to lift heavy equipment and work outdoors in extreme weather.

Responsibilities

• Work on RTUs and HVAC systems.
• Inspect system components including compressors, condensers, evaporators, fan motors, fans and expansion valves.
• Perform system checks, troubleshooting and refrigerant recovery.
• Electrical and gas system troubleshooting.
• Maintain records including daily service logs and service records.
• Research and resolve complex system problems.
• Complete assigned paperwork and forms.
• Conduct safety inspections and verify PPE and safety regulations.

ABOUT THIS CAREER OPPORTUNITY

Black & McDonald is currently seeking an experienced Service HVAC tech to join our Service Division in Saskatoon, SK! If you are a hands-on, customer service-oriented, and technically inclined professional searching for the opportunity to build a solid foundation for your career, this position is for you. The HVAC Technician position is located in Saskatoon, SK and will report directly to the Service Supervisor.

We’re looking for an experienced HVAC/Plumber Technician to join our team! The ideal candidate will have experience working with a variety of RTU/HVAC systems and be able to troubleshoot and repair issues as they arise. We are primarily an HVAC company but do work on chillers and smaller refrigeration systems

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Work on RTUs and HVAC systems
• Inspect system components, including compressors, condensers, evaporators, fan motors, fans, and expansion valves.
• Perform system checks, system troubleshooting, and refrigerant recovery.
• Perform electrical and gas system troubleshooting.
• Maintain records including daily service logs, refrigerant recovery reports, and service records.
• Research and resolve complex system problems.
• Complete assigned paperwork and forms
• Conduct safety inspections, including proper use of personal protective equipment, and verify that safety regulations are followed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Previous experience as a HVAC technician.
• HVAC certification.
• Braising and soldering skills.
• Knowledge of local building codes.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and compliance schematics.
• Advanced mechanical and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions.
• Physically fit and able to lift heavy equipment.

SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

• Clean Class 5 SK Driver’s License and abstract
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
