Job summary

Black & McDonald Limited is seeking an experienced Service HVAC technician to join our North East Saskatchewan team. The role reports to the Service Supervisor and focuses on RTU/HVAC systems, troubleshooting, and customer service excellence.

Ideal candidates will have HVAC certification, brazing/soldering abilities, and the physical aptitude to work outdoors in harsh conditions. Training and continuous development are emphasized within a safety-conscious environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a HVAC technician.
• HVAC certification.
• Brazing and soldering skills.
• Knowledge of local building codes.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and compliance schematics.
• Advanced mechanical and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions.
• Physically fit and able to lift heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

• Work on RTUs and HVAC systems
• Inspect system components, including compressors, condensers, evaporators, fan motors, fans, and expansion valves.
• Perform system checks, system troubleshooting, and refrigerant recovery.
• Perform electrical and gas system troubleshooting.
• Maintain records including daily service logs, refrigerant recovery reports, and service records.
• Research and resolve complex system problems.
• Complete assigned paperwork and forms
• Conduct safety inspections, including proper use of personal protective equipment, and verify that safety regulations are followed.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with a variety of RTU/HVAC systems and be able to troubleshoot and repair issues as they arise. We are primarily an HVAC company but do work on chillers and smaller refrigeration systems.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Clean Class 5 SK Driver’s License and abstract
