Job summary

Black & McDonald Limited in Saskatchewan seeks an experienced Service HVAC technician to join our North East Saskatchewan service division. The role reports to the Service Supervisor and focuses on hands-on diagnostics and repairs of RTU/HVAC systems while delivering excellent customer service in a weather-driven environment.

The ideal candidate has HVAC certification, mechanical and diagnostic skills, and the ability to read blueprints.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an HVAC technician
• HVAC certification required
• Braising and soldering skills
• Knowledge of local building codes
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and compliance schematics
• Advanced mechanical and diagnostic skills
• Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions
• Physically fit and able to lift heavy equipment

Responsibilities

• Work on RTUs and HVAC systems
• Inspect system components including compressors, condensers, evaporators, fan motors, fans, and expansion valves
• Perform system checks, system troubleshooting, and refrigerant recovery
• Perform electrical and gas system troubleshooting
• Maintain records including daily service logs and service reports
• Research and resolve complex system problems
• Complete assigned paperwork and forms
• Conduct safety inspections and ensure safety regulations are followed

We’re looking for an experienced HVAC/Plumber Technician to join our team! The ideal candidate will have experience working with a variety of RTU/HVAC systems and be able to troubleshoot and repair issues as they arise. We are primarily an HVAC company but do work on chillers and smaller refrigeration systems.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Work on RTUs and HVAC systems
• Inspect system components, including compressors, condensers, evaporators, fan motors, fans, and expansion valves.
• Perform system checks, system troubleshooting, and refrigerant recovery.
• Perform electrical and gas system troubleshooting.
• Maintain records including daily service logs, refrigerant recovery reports, and service records.
• Research and resolve complex system problems.
• Complete assigned paperwork and forms
• Conduct safety inspections, including proper use of personal protective equipment, and verify that safety regulations are followed.

Education And Experience Requirements

• Previous experience as a HVAC technician.
• HVAC certification.
• Braising and soldering skills.
