Job summary

Carmichael Engineering Ltd. in Paradise, NL is seeking a skilled HVAC Journeyman Technician to install, service, and repair HVAC and refrigeration systems at customer sites across Newfoundland.

You will diagnose issues, perform routine maintenance, and ensure work meets safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate holds a journeyman HVAC/Refrigeration certification; gas/oil burners experience and BAS/Controls experience are assets.

Qualifications

• Journeyman certification in HVAC/Refrigeration.
• Gas/oil/burners experience is an asset.
• BAS/Controls experience is an asset.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record.
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

Salary Range: Local 740 union rates

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with HVAC and refrigeration equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections.
• Ensure all work is performed in accordance with company standards and safety regulations.
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain positive client relationships.
• Keep accurate records of work performed and materials used.

Requirements

• Journeyman certification in HVAC/Refrigeration.
• Qualification and experience on gas/oil/burners an asset.
• BAS/Controls experience an asset.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
