Job summary

WSP USA in Canada is seeking a Senior Transmission Line Project Engineer to lead high‑voltage line design efforts (34.5kV–500kV) across Ontario or Quebec. You will guide design deliverables, coordinate with contractors, and manage scopes, schedules, and budgets, fostering strong client relationships.

The role requires a Civil/Mechanical/Electrical engineering degree, 10+ years of transmission experience, and a P.Eng.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum 10 years of transmission design experience including HV/LV lines and routes.
• Professional Engineering license (P.Eng.) is required.
• Experience with PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, PLS-Lite, AutoCAD/MicroStation, MFAD and MS Project strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical aspects of transmission line design projects (34.5kV–500kV).
• Prepare and review design deliverables, such as drawings, material selection, and construction specs.
• Conduct quality reviews of internal and subcontractor deliverables.
• Manage multiple projects within budget and schedule constraints.
• Evaluate design options, routes, and criteria for merit and feasibility.
• Coordinate with contractors to ensure client satisfaction and project success.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to the project team and maintain client relationships.
