Job summary

Stantec in Ontario is seeking a Transmission Line Team Lead to guide a growing group of engineers and designers. The role combines technical leadership with team management to deliver high-quality transmission line designs on multiple projects.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in overhead transmission design, knowledge of industry standards, and proven project leadership. Hybrid work arrangements and ongoing professional development opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or higher degree in Structural, Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
Registered with the relevant Engineering Provincial Association.

Responsibilities

Lead a fast-growing team of Transmission Line Engineers and Designers to successfully execute project deliverables.
Oversee projects, set clear directions and expectations, keep staff focused on objectives, and foster a culture of teamwork.
Manage team workload and project priorities in close collaboration with Project Managers and the Transmission Line Engineering Manager.
Provide mentorship, coaching and technical directions to the team.
Perform quality checks, quality audits, and contribute to improvement plans.
Understand and apply industry and client standards for design and engineering.
Coordinate with clients, project managers, and internal teams to ensure timely and high-quality deliverables.
Travel and visit client sites and offices during project definition, detailed design and construction as required.
