Job summary

Rising Edge Group is seeking an Electrical Apprentice to assist in installing and maintaining low- and high-voltage equipment in substations across British Columbia. You will gain hands-on experience with grounding grids, structural steel, and power system components under a Journeyperson Electrician.

Requirements include being a Registered Electrical Apprentice, knowledge of the CEC, a Class 5 license, and willingness to travel to remote sites.

Qualifications

Must be a Registered Electrical Apprentice (Construction or Industrial Electrician).
Strong knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) with BC Amendments and safety regulations.
Class 5 Driver's License with acceptable driving record.
Experience with Microsoft Windows and Office, and computer-based test equipment is an asset.
Experience operating construction equipment (skid steer, mini hoe, manlifts, zoom booms).
Able to work at heights and travel out of town including remote sites.

Responsibilities

Assist with installation and maintenance of low- and high-voltage equipment in substations.
Help install grounding grids, structural steel, and power system equipment.
Assist with installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of HV transformers and related equipment.
Support substation construction activities and documentation of circuits.
Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections as required.
Develop work scopes and assist with procedures and repairs.
