Job summary

Énergie NB Power is seeking a Learning Solutions Specialist in Fredericton to design, develop, implement, and evaluate learning programs that align with business goals. You will lead a small team, collaborate with subject matter experts, and drive learning initiatives that boost employee growth and performance.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree or diploma in Adult Learning/Instructional Design, 6 years of instructional design experience, and strong ADDIE knowledge.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Adult Learning/Education, Instructional Design or related discipline.
  • Six years of instructional design experience; candidates with a diploma require an additional two years.
  • Six years working in a project/initiative environment with defined workplans and timelines.
  • Two or more years’ experience leading cross-functional teams.
  • Advanced knowledge of ADDIE and learning development processes.
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office; experience with Teams/SharePoint.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Facilitation, presentation and coaching skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, implement, and evaluate learning solutions aligned with business objectives.
  • Lead day-to-day learning initiatives and supervise Instructional Designers and Instructors/Facilitators.
  • Plan, prioritize work, and manage project schedules to drive continuous improvement.

Salary range: $46.18 to $57.72 hourly based on 36.25 hours per week

As a Learning Solutions Specialist, you will serve as a learning and development expert, partnering with leaders, subject matter experts, and stakeholders to design, develop, implement, and evaluate learning solutions that support business objectives. You will provide day-to-day leadership and supervision, coaching, and mentoring to Instructional Designers and Instructors/Facilitators, lead medium to large-scale learning initiatives, and provide guidance on learning and development best practices. By helping to plan and prioritize work, oversee project schedules and timelines, and drive continuous improvement, you will play a key role in shaping learning strategies that help employees thrive and contribute to organizational success.

Key functions include:
  • Performing independent research on new learning and development methods, practices, programs and/or products
  • Collaborating to ensure the designed solutions not only meet the learner and business requirements, but are also aligned with and support progress of the organization’s cultural objectives and values
  • Leading and motivating the team to achieve high levels of performance while modelling the behaviors and attitudes expected.
Our ideal teammate will have:
  • A bachelor's degree or diploma in Adult Learning/Education, Instructional Design or a related discipline
  • Six years of instructional design experience. (candidates with a diploma will require an additional two years of experience)
  • Six years working in a project/initiative environment (setting and following workplans and schedules to achieve desired goals)
  • Two or more years’ experience leading cross-functional teams
  • Advanced knowledge of learning and development methodology processes, and standards such as Analysis, Design Development, Implementation and Evaluation (ADDIE)
  • Advanced proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, working in a Microsoft Teams and SharePoint environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Facilitation, presentation and coaching skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Preference will be given to those who have worked with Learning Management Systems (LMS) to publish content.

An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be modified.

An Eligibility List generated from this competition may be used to fill future vacancies at the same level within a period of up to 12 months.
