The Toronto office of Smith + Andersen is seeking a versatile HR Manager to join our expanding team. We are looking for an analytical individual with strong execution skills to excel in a dynamic, multifaceted role. The successful candidate will contribute to shaping our HR strategies that enhance employee engagement. What You’ll Do
  • Lead the recruitment function. Develop and implement comprehensive recruitment strategies to attract top talent. Continuously evaluate and optimize recruitment processes for effectiveness. Ensure best practices are applied and embedded within talent acquisition processes. Drive employer branding efforts to position S+A as an employer of choice, collaborating with the communications team.
  • Support and/or lead core HR functions initiatives including onboarding, offboarding, employee engagement, retention, career development, performance management, health and safety, WSIB/WCB administration, HR technology, compensation, and the creation and maintenance of HR policies and procedures.
  • Spearhead the design, deployment, and maintenance of Ceridian Dayforce modules, ensuring detailed process documentation and system optimization.
  • Oversee the cooperative education program including recruitment strategies and action plan in partnership with HR Generalists and Coordinators to build a strong talent pipeline.
  • Design and deliver training programs for talent acquisition and contribute to the development of HR training for other functional areas.
  • Enhance recruitment analytics by further developing dashboards, reports, and metrics to support continuous improvement. Manage recruitment technologies effectively.
Who You Are:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or related field. CHRP designation is required.
  • 10+ years of HR experience including at least 3-5 years in a managerial role within a corporate environment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience of HR disciplines and best practices.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proven ability to solve problems and deliver results with precision and efficiency.
  • Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • In-depth understanding of Employment Standards Act across Canadian provinces, health and safety legislation, and employment law.
  • Previous experience planning and implementing HRIS modules, preferably with Ceridian Dayforce.
  • Advanced MS Office skills: Excel (including VLOOKUP), Word, and PowerPoint.
